The EP “KATINA” release date was coined to match the anniversary of his mother passing in 2014. Maliq Esse has dedicated an entire song, “Leave Me, Never,” a single that taps into his deep emotions dealing with her passing.
The date also holds a sentimental value as it was the same date she was flying home from Florida after dropping him at the Full Sail University, where Maliq Esse later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Arts & Engineering.
