Target executives cite theft as key factor impacting retailer's gross margins

Target executives said inventory "shrinkage" — that are stolen, lost, damaged or otherwise unaccounted for — has already hurt gross profits by $400 million this year. The retailer is stepping up training and technology investments to cope.
