Ted Wilson's Lackadaisical Attitude Towards Church Leaders' Scandals

By: Issuewire

Denver, Colorado Jun 11, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - There has been no word or action to address the issues with Indonesia; pedophiles are now among his ministers in Indonesia. There are two more such incidents of sex with kids that have gone unpunished.

The ministers' shameful and wicked acts in Indonesia include a massive financial extortion of the Adventist Hospital in Manado; bribery of a US citizen by the Conference Leader over a pastoral position; several corruption cases involving church officers embezzling government grants; sex scandals and cover-up; and Wilson's silence or inaction means that he is condoning their behavior, which is not only disgusting but also bad and uninspiring.

Ted Wilson's inattentive behavior as President of the Seventh Day Adventist Church HQ in Maryland towards the immorality committed by his ministers in Indonesia is deemed bad, and his actions could be seen as indirect approval of the staff's misconduct as long as their tithes and offerings continue to flow to him.

Some members from Indonesian church have already expressed that they don't want to wait 20 years or more, like in the recent case of the Southern Baptists, whose previous leader did little to address the church's clergy' scandals. The Indonesian Adventist group who live in America already started to inform Wilson two years ago, and instead of doing nothing, the Indonesian members expect him to provide justice and transparency from the top down to rectify the harm.

As a church who believes the Bible as a Sola Scriptura, we should follow in the footsteps of our savior, Jesus Christ, who cleansed His temple during His time on earth (John 2:13-16).

Firing the pastors engaged in the above-mentioned cases of corruption, nepotism, sex scandals, and cover-ups is long overdue and would be the most effective method to put an end to their misdeeds. Many church members in Indonesia today have lost faith in his administration's ability to achieve justice.

Members all around the globe are expecting for massive cleaning among those leaders/ministers, as well as the firing of those who have broken the law, and the establishment of a new working culture that is safe for church members to worship in, as well as a renewed sense of vitality and spiritual optimism before of Christ coming.
