Kings & Queens International to Host Evening Under the Stars Gala in Rock Hill to Continue Its Mission of Giving Impoverished Children in Peru a Second Chance at Life

ROCK HILL, S.C. - November 2, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Kings & Queens International will host its third annual Gala on Saturday, November 13, which will fuel its continued efforts to provide shelter, education and support to young, displaced and impoverished boys in Iguitos, Peru. The locally run charity, which was founded eight years ago, houses dozens of formerly abandoned boys at its child abandonment prevention center, where they receive an education all the way through college in the hopes they will break the cycles of poverty and abandonment.

"These galas have been a vital component to our grassroots efforts and have allowed us to purchase five beautiful acres of jungle property in Peru that houses the transition home for our young men," says Rock Hill resident Kailee Bowen, Executive Director of Kings & Queens International. "But in the wake of this global pandemic, it's more crucial now than ever to support these efforts as we combat an increase in child poverty and abandonment while bolstering the local community."

Join Kings & Queens International for an Evening Under the Stars, featuring a sit-down dinner, live music, silent auction, and entertainment by "America's Got Talent" comedian Mike Goodwin. All proceeds will help the organization provide children with meals, after-school tutoring, medical/dental assistance, and child sponsorships. Please see the link below for individual tickets and several corporate sponsorship options. If you are a local business and want to donate an item to our silent auction, please contact Kailee at the contact information listed above.

About Kings & Queens International

Due to extreme poverty in Iguitos, Peru, it's very common for mothers in this area to end up with numerous children to feed on less than $1 a day. These women are then faced with the agonizing decision to put a child to the streets, generally the eldest boy as young as age 5, who has the best chance of survival. Kings & Queens International was founded eight years ago as a child abandonment prevention organization to better serve these children. The name comes from the cultural view that abandoned children are lowly in their society, but our belief is that they are immeasurably valuable! Through the years, we've been fortunate to watch the little boys we love grow into amazing young men who now live at Kings & Queens' transition home & are being provided a college education or vocational training through our sponsorship program. Kings & Queens International is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. For more information on our mission, please visit https://www.kingsandqueensint.org/ourmission.
