Valor, COVA, and Red, White, and Blue Partner for Suicide Awareness Webinar

Greg Londo, the CEO of Valor Technical Cleaning, a West Point graduate, and an Iraq combat veteran, is using his Army Ranger skills to give back to the Colorado community. On Tuesday, April 13th, Greg hosted a webinar with the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance (COVA), discussing Colorado-county-by-county suicide awareness, and providing insight into suicide prevention and predictive factors. The webinar also focused on the dangers of bloodborne pathogens to frontline workers and victims, and the protocols law enforcement organizations need to implement to keep people safe.

Greg, a captain in the 25th Infantry Division and a recipient of the Bronze Star, is no stranger to veterans’ issues in today’s society. “This subject has a special place in my heart,” he said. “As a combat veteran, I had a lot of buddies who struggled after the war, and I lost some who didn’t have access to critical resources. Valor, and our partnership with organizations such as COVA and Red, White, and Blue is an attempt to raise awareness in our community so that our community organizations can better respond to this ongoing, often overlooked, epidemic.”

“Suicide rates are up as much as 4x in some parts of the state since COVID-19,” he continued, “and veterans represent 18% of the state’s suicides. There simply aren’t enough outreach programs and resources for the brave men and women defending our country. Hopefully, this webinar and others like it will get us to start thinking about potential solutions for the people struggling out there.”

Valor Technical Cleaning is a Denver crime scene cleanup and biohazard remediation company that services the entire front range and is looking to expand into the national arena to respond to community issues on a broader scale. Their mission is to serve the community with care and compassion and create a safer environment for our community’s first responders.

Valor also works closely with author and Executive Director at Red, White, and Blue, Mike Erwin, to help bring the community’s veterans together through various events such as weekly fitness activities, monthly social gatherings, and local races and events. The two organizations hosted a joint fireside chat the day after the COVA webinar (April 14th), discussing similar topics.
