AMARU Wins Three Awards in Accolade Global Film Competition

Amsterdam - Independent recording artist, actor, author, and filmmaker AMARU has won THREE prestigious awards from The Accolade Global Film Competition. AMARU has won two 'Awards of Merit' and one 'Award of Recognition. The awards were given for AMARU's exciting music videos for his songs 'Tell Me' and 'Never' and for his music documentary 'For The Record: The Making Of Champagne Attitude'.

'Tell Me' is a politically charged pop song about the current state of the world. The arrangements of the song comprises various ethnic instruments such as the Indian sitar and the tabla. The intention was to create a 'global feel' for the song, whereas the visuals express clearly the intention of the filmmaker, merging lyrics and visuals seamlessly.

'Never' is an honest tribute to all cancer patients alike, but mostly to AMARU's maternal grandmother, who died of breast cancer in the early eighties.

"On several occasions we had to stop rolling, because things got a little too real", the filmmaker and director recalls.

'For The Record: The Making Of Champagne Attitude' chronicles the making of the debut album of the multi-talented entertainer, taking you into the recording studio for a glimpse into the production of his two-time Global Music Awards Gold Medal-winning debut album 'Champagne Attitude'.

The Accolade recognizes film, television, videography, and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film and television industry. Information about the Accolade and a list of recent winners can be found at www.accoladecompetition.org.

In winning an Accolade, AMARU joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including the Oscar winning production of The Lady in Number Six by Malcolm Clarke, the very talented Dave Bossert of Disney for his short documentary, The Tunes Behind The Toons, Hollywood industry veteran Ron Howard for When You Find Me and Highwire Films Australia for their popular ABC TV series Twentysomething.

Rick Prickett, who chairs The Accolade Global Film Competition, had this to say about the latest winners, "The Accolade is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world from powerhouse companies to remarkable new talent. The Accolade helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptional high quality of entries. The goal of The Accolade is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve."
