Paul Leslie Announces Retirement from Dovel; Sudhakar Kesavan to Join as Chairman of the Board

Dovel Technologies, a leading expert to federal agencies that blends deep domain expertise and advanced technologies in the health IT, life sciences, public safety, and grants management markets, today announced Paul Leslie will retire as Dovel’s Executive Chairman and Sudhakar Kesavan will join Dovel as Chairman of the Board in March.

Prior to serving as Executive Chairman, Leslie was the CEO of Dovel for more than eight years. During his tenure at Dovel, Leslie led the organization’s growth from a small business with less than 50 employees into a mid-size company in the federal government space with more than 2,200 personnel today. Under his leadership, Dovel focused on the federal health and civilian markets, building a unique team with entrepreneurial spirit and an innovation-first culture to help federal agencies solve complex problems that improve, protect, and save lives. He will continue to remain active with Dovel’s leadership team and serve as an advisor to the company.

Leslie has dedicated more than 30 years of his career to the Washington business ecosystem, gaining entrepreneurial expertise in operational excellence, innovative solution development, growth through business development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and extensive public sector leadership. He’s a pillar in the community, known for his enthusiasm in mentoring business leaders and young professionals as well as lending his time to various boards and organizations that make an impact on the region. Leslie has served as Chairman of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia and continues to provide guidance as an advisor to the Children Science Center and George Mason University’s Innovation Advisory Council.

“It has been an honor to have led Dovel through its entrepreneurial growth stage. I will forever be grateful to the management team and all our wonderful employees for their dedication to our customers’ success and their enduring support of our growth strategy,” said Leslie. “I remain optimistic and confident that the team will continue to see great success with the next phase of strategic growth and expansion.”

Kesavan previously served as ICF’s Chairman and CEO during which time, he led the company through an IPO, expanded operations globally, and completed more than 20 acquisitions. In addition, Kesavan serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at ABM (NYSE: ABM), as well as on the Board of Trustees for the non-profit Inova Health System in Northern Virginia and the External Advisory Board of the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

With more than 30 years of experience, Kesavan will advise Dovel on its vision and strategic goals as it launches its next phase of growth. His experience in building and scaling high performance companies will be invaluable as Dovel continues to grow in current and new markets.

“I am impressed with the quality of the management team at Dovel as well as their ambition,” said Kesavan. “I look forward to working with them to support their vision to scale the business and deliver solutions that have a positive impact across the federal government.”

“I am deeply grateful for Paul’s time at Dovel. He has been a great mentor and has had an enormous impact on the Company’s success throughout the last decade. The transformative success he created is the foundation that propels Dovel as we continue to support missions that truly make a difference in the world,” said Damon Griggs, CEO. “At the same time, I am excited to welcome Sudhakar to Dovel. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience leading and scaling a mission-driven business and I look forward to the ideas and value he will add to our team.”
