SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - June 18, 2018 - PRLog -- Wildnote announced today it has sent its digital platform on a history-making climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania this week.
The expedition is made up of "Outdoor Afro" leaders from across the country, and it is the first all-Black expedition from the U.S. to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. At 19,340 ft. Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. The novice climbers range in age from 27 to 60-something. They are making the climb to inspire others to challenge themselves to new heights.
Based in Oakland, CA. Outdoor Afro is a national, non-profit organization with leadership networks around the country that celebrates and inspires African American connections and leadership in nature. The team begins their ascent on Friday June 15th.
Wildnote's environmental, digital-data collection, management, and reporting platform will assist the climbing team in efficiently documenting the expedition on their mobile devices (photos and data).
