New Innovations on The Ray Put Global Spotlight on Georgia

The last few weeks of 2016 brought lots of excitement to The Ray team as they saw two international pilot innovation projects unfold at the Georgia Visitor Information Center at the Georgia/Alabama state line.  More than 150 people showed up for the unveiling of the Wattway solar roadway pilot and the WheelRight tire pressure and tread depth measurement systems as they were opened in a special ceremony hosted by The Ray, Georgia Department of Transportation, Georgia Department of Economic Development and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG). Foundation's NextGen Grants $30,000 to Georgia Tech to Expand Carbon Reduction Challenge

The Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s NextGen Committee has awarded a $30,000 grant to Georgia Tech to expand the Georgia Tech Carbon Reduction Challenge to include and engage more students across a broad range of disciplines. The Foundation’s grant is being matched by a grant from the Scheller College of Business Dean’s Innovation Fund. Read more.

NextGen Grants $7,500 to Expand Climate Education in Rural Georgia and North Carolina

In keeping with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and K-12 education trends for promoting the use of digital media in the classroom, ACE has already achieved great success in reaching high schoolers across the nation. In total, ACE has educated over two million students, though most have been in urban areas. One of ACE’s most effective tools in educating these students has been its interactive, online curriculum called Our Climate Our Future.  Read more.

Ray's Collection Now Available to Public Through Georgia Historical Society Research Center

The Georgia Historical Society (GHS) is pleased to announce that the collection of the late Ray C. Anderson, the visionary industrialist, environmentalist, and founder of Interface, Inc., is now available for research at the GHS Research Center in Savannah and online through the GHS online finding aids. The collection was donated to GHS by the Ray C. Anderson Foundation and Interface, Inc. in mid 2015. Read more.

Save the Date for RayDay - October 15, 2017

Save the date for RayDay 2017 on Sunday, October 15th, 3-6 p.m. at Serenbe. RayDay 2016 was quite a success with more than 1,600 people in attendance.  It was also the focus of a zero food waste case study by Elemental Impact and NatureWorks.  Read the case study.
