PRLog - July 22, 2015 - MARMARIS, Turkey -- Where once blue Cruises were provided on sponge fishing boats, travellers now have the opportunity to choose from Standard class gulets (otherwise known as 1 star) to as high as 6 stars. There are known to be nearly 1,000 gulets serving from Turkey (between Turkish and Greek waters).
Some of Turkish gulets have been sold to Croatian owners in the last decade, for the purpose of private or cabin charter. Travellers are able to experience the splendor and authentic appeal of gulet Sailing in the Adriatic. But it still is yet to be as broad in choice as Turkey. While there are still no more than 40 - 50 gulets available for charter in Croatia – a far cry from nearly a thousand in Turkey; the demand is substantially high.
According to local expert blue cruise agency YNG Yachting, there has never been such a high volume of inquiries for Croatia gulet holidays as until 2015 for the 2016 season – so far.
“There is a demand to be met, as supply alongside choice is insufficient in the Adriatic Sea. If the plan to send more Turkish gulets to Croatia continues – which we expect it will; it may become the next capital of gulet blue cruise holidays after Turkey. The island destinations offer differences in an altogether special European culture that brings with it the cuisine, history, heritage, crystalline waters, countless inhabited and unhabited islands and more,” states YNG Yachting.
