A study by the Fordham Institute showed that public school teachers in these areas are even more likely to enroll their own children into private schools. The national average of teachers who send their kids to private school is nearly double that of non-teacher parents. Again, in urban areas that number increases heavily, with nearly half of teachers with school-age children in Philadelphia sending them to private schools, and a third of their peers in the San Francisco and NYC areas doing the same.
