Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. Enters LOI with Executive Producing Team for George R.R. Martin's 'The Skin Trade'

Los Angeles, CA US, August 10, 2011 /FSC/ - Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. (MIKP - OTC Pink)(www.mtpprods.com) is pleased to announce that it has signed a Letter of Intent with a team of Executive Producers (EPs) to Package and Finance Mike The Pike Productions' 'The Skin Trade' by George R.R. Martin, the author/creator behind HBO's smash success, 'Game of Thrones'.  

The Agreement will entail the EP group to secure A-list attachments (writer, director, cast) and a minimum agreed upon budget to satisfy production value of approximately $60-80m and at least 25% of the budget raised in cash.  Pre-Sales and Tax Incentives will be harvested to mitigate overall risk.

'GRRM's 'The Skin Trade' is a werewolf novella with a macabre backdrop in the vein of films like ''Underworld', 'The Howling' and even 'Silence of the Lambs' which was recently optioned by MTP for a feature film adaptation. Producers are confident the piece will have both critical and commercial appeal with a box-office scenario that could well outperform its (even recent) Lycan counterparts. Trends in the industry, set by Films like 'Twilight' and Original Series such as 'True Blood' suggest strong potential for anything to do with werewolves or vampires

MTP and its partners recently wrapped principle photography on sci-fi thriller 'White Sapce' written by Spoke Lane Entertainment's 'Ryan Colucci' and Directed by Ken Locsmandi, owner/founder of visual effects/post-house mecca www.filmworksfx.com. The film is currently in post-production in Los Angeles.

George R.R. Martin, coined 'The American Tolkein' and recently named by Time Magazine as one of the top 100 Most Influential People is the author/creator behind HBO's  successful epic series, Game of Thrones, which is nominated for 13 Emmys, including Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Writing.

Mike The Pike Productions expects to sign an Agreement with Executive Producers in the coming days.

Currently, Avatar Press (http://www.avatarpress.com/) is developing the Graphic Novel version of 'The Skin Trade'.
