California American Water to Participate in 31st U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition

California American Water will participate in the 31st U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24, 2011. The Competition originally started in 1980, when a group of Imperial Beach residents decided to form the committee and host the first event after being inspired by a similar competition in their sister city of White Rock, British Columbia. For more than 30 years, the event has grown from attracting 30,000 people to more than 400,000 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Imperial Beach.

California American Water will host a water conservation booth throughout the weekend-long competition. Customers of California American Water are encouraged to stop by to speak with company representatives, ask questions regarding their water service, discuss water conservation tips and pick up information regarding the company’s rebate and home water survey programs.
