California American Water Distributes 2010 Water Quality Reports to Its Southern California Customers

California American Water recently completed their 2010 water quality reports for its seven Southern California water systems located in the counties of Los Angeles, San Diego, and Ventura.

The reports show that water quality in each district met state federal primary drinking water standards for all of its Southern California water systems in 2010. California American Water serves a population of approximately 250,000 people within these areas.

“We are once again pleased to report that the water supplied to our customers in 2010 met all primary drinking water standards required by state and federal regulations,” said Todd Brown, California American Water’s Southern California general manager. “Our teams work hard every day to ensure customers receive the highest quality water possible, and these reports substantiate their dedicated efforts.”

The annual reports compare California American Water’s water quality with standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Public Health. The report also discusses drinking water sources, public health information, substances detected in the water and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions and answers concerning drinking water are also included.

The water quality reports, which are updated and distributed annually by California American Water, will be delivered to all customers in Southern California by the end of June. Some reports will arrive as a bill insert. However, most will be directly mailed to customers' homes or businesses.

The 2010 water quality reports will also be available at www.californiaamwater.com at that time. Renters who are not direct recipients of a water bill are encouraged to access the reports online. Customers with questions regarding their water quality report are encouraged to contact California American Water’s 24-hour customer service center at 1-888-237-1333 or the Environmental Protection Agency Safe Drinking Water hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
