Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, Honored with UJA-Federation of New York’s Banking and Finance Award

More than 300 leaders from the financial services and business community gathered to honor Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, at UJA-Federation of New York’s Wall Street and Financial Services Division’s Banking and Finance Reception on May 4, 2011, at Gotham Hall in New York City. The event, honoring Pandit for his professional and philanthropic leadership, raised $900,000.

“Citi and the UJA-Federation of New York share a deep commitment to this city, its people and its future,” said Citi CEO Vikram Pandit. “The support, counseling and spiritual care that they provide make a tremendous impact on the lives of those in need, particularly on individuals and families impacted by the economic downturn. We are proud to support them.”

Levin, president of UJA-Federation. “We honor him this evening, because he exemplifies the impact one person can make when they conduct business with integrity and give back to the greater community. Congratulations to Vikram on this well-deserved honor.”

Tobias Levkovich, managing director and chief U.S. equity strategist at Citi, presented the award to Pandit.

Since December 2007, Vikram Pandit has been CEO of Citi, one of the world's leading financial services companies, which does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions and has approximately 200 million customer accounts. As CEO, Mr. Pandit has led a structural, financial and cultural transformation of the firm during the most challenging economic environment since the Great Depression. Citi has supported the work of UJA-Federation of New York for nearly two decades.

Funds raised go to UJA-Federation of New York’s annual campaign that helps sustain a network of more than 100 health and human-service agencies in New York and around the world.
