AES and CIC Decline to Move Forward on Wind Joint Venture

The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) and China Investment Corporation (CIC) announced today that their non-binding Letter of Intent for a 35 percent investment in AES Wind Generation, which was signed on November 6, 2009, expired as of June 30, 2010. AES and CIC may resume discussions as additional clarity develops surrounding renewable energy legislation in the U.S.
