The steakhouse's latest menu structure reflects chef Jason Carron's experience in the restaurant industry, with a priority on farm-to-table sourcing and relationships with local suppliers to ensure seasonal ingredients of the highest quality go into each dish.

"We focus on creating dishes that surprise guests through thoughtful ingredient selection and preparation techniques," Carron said. "Working with seasonally available produce keeps our menu centered on ingredients at peak flavor rather than forcing items that aren't at their best."

The menu showcases premium steakhouse offerings with Brandt Prime cuts including filet, New York strip, and ribeye, alongside a 32oz long bone option. Beyond steaks, the kitchen prepares seafood selections like Chilean sea bass and paella, plus Italian-inspired dishes such as cacio e pepe and chicken parmesan. The house cocktails and curated wine selection complement the food menu with creative drinks and international wine offerings.

Service style and atmosphere reflect the same careful consideration applied to ingredient selection and preparation methods and their consistency has already earned recognition within the industry, including the Diner's Choice award in 2024 and the Best of The Northshore award in 2025.

The Reading steakhouse opened in Spring 2024 and is chef and owner Jason Carron's first independent restaurant after spending twenty years in the New England hospitality industry. They've also just opened a second location in Lexington, at 27 Waltham Street, and have plans to open a third location in Somerville at 16-20 Medford Street in Spring 2026.

Post 1917's team brings decades of combined hospitality experience to every aspect of the dining experience. Executive Chef Victor Valencia has worked alongside owner Jason Carron since 2004, with their partnership beginning at Fleming's Steakhouse and continuing through Carron's first independent restaurant. The front-of-house leadership includes Events Coordinator Jessica Potter, who has 14 years of serving experience, and Wine Director Jennifer Wladkowski, whose 20 years in food and beverage includes WSET II certification and fine wine sales background.

Guests can make reservations through the restaurant's website or contact the Reading location at (781) 942-0001.
