Bursitis is a condition that affects one’s bursae. These are small, fluid-filled sacs that reduce the tension between bones and tendons. With bursitis, these bursae become inflamed and agitated. While bursitis can affect any bursa throughout the body, the human knee has eleven different bursae, making knee bursitis a more common condition.
