Bill Wade’s new book, Fair Winds of Death, reveals rare insight into a behind-the-scenes look at the Naval Investigative Service, the forerunner of today’s NCIS

A “terrific effort” and a “real thriller” describe this fictional story of a top NIS Investigator.

Belington, West Virginia, USA – Drawing on exposure, research, and personal experience, Bill Wade’s new book, Fair Winds of Death, is a throwback to a thought-to-be-simpler but seemingly complicated time where cases are solved without personal cell phones, desktop computers, the Internet, or DNA analysis. The book focuses on Bill’s novel protagonist, Marcus Colt, and provides a behind-the-scenes look at the Naval Investigative Service from someone who actually worked there.

According to the book’s blurb, Lieutenant Commander Marcus Colt is a top internal affairs investigator who has made a name for himself handling the Navy’s most unusual cases. But with time quickly running out, plus danger and uncertainty surrounding him, it will take everything Colt has to stop a deadly security leak before someone else dies—especially when that next someone could be him.

Elaborating more on why the book is an essential read, Bill Wade explained that even though the book is fiction, the story comes across as realistic and one that could have happened. It will give readers a good mix of interesting, relatable characters using old-school methods to deal with relationships, murder, conspiracy, and illegal drugs.

Fair Winds of Death will provide readers a glimpse of how things were done 50 years ago. The military personnel will appreciate the factual content as well as the story. Even non-military people will gain new insights into the Navy and the agency and enjoy the interweaving story as it progresses,” said Bill Wade.

“This book grabbed me and didn’t let go. It was excellently written and kept your attention the entire time. I felt like the main characters were my friends. Great job! My husband also couldn’t put it down, and now our daughter has the same response. I’ve highly recommended this book to others. We anxiously await the 2nd book,” Robin K, Amazon.

Wade said his writing style makes the book appropriate for any age group.

Fair Winds of Death is available now at http://wadepublishing.com and on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other outlets.

In other news, a second novel, Fair Winds of Deceit, is in the pipeline and will continue the Marcus Colt adventures where Fair Winds of Death left off.
