First Point of Presence in Kentucky brings robust of IP transit to the Southeast

Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone announced today that it has deployed a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Quad State Internet PAH1 data center. The new PoP is located at 1212 Helen St., Paducah KY 42001, United States.

Quad State Internet PAH1 enables direct local internet access for over 15 million end users in a 225-mile radius including markets in and near St. Louis, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN. The facility also provides businesses and organizations with dark fiber, wavelength access, and colocation options.

This PoP is Hurricane Electric’s first location in Kentucky. It will provide enterprises in the greater Paducah area with improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management in the delivery of next generation IP connectivity services.

Customers of Quad State Internet PAH1 in and around Paducah, KY have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports. Additionally, customers at the facility can exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s vast global network, which offers over 40,000 BGP sessions with over 10,000 different networks via more than 310 major exchange points and thousands of customer and private peering ports.
