National award celebrates exceptional healthcare organizations leading the industry in empowering and supporting nurses
Energage and Nurse.com today announced the seven winners of the inaugural Top Workplaces for Nursing award. Developed by Energage, the HR technology company behind the Top Workplaces employer recognition program, and Nurse.com, a community where more than 3 million nurses can connect with peers, apply for jobs, and earn continuing education, the award recognizes organizations that are industry leaders in creating exceptional workplaces for nurses.
These organizations were selected for building people-first cultures where nurses feel respected, supported, and empowered to deliver high-quality care. Nearly one in four nurses are considering leaving the profession, and 17% report that their work has a negative effect on their mental health, according to Nurse.com’s 2024 Nurse Salary and Job Satisfaction Report. Recognizing those employers actively setting the standard for nurse well-being is more critical than ever.
“I've felt firsthand the impact workplace culture has in the nursing profession,” said Cara Lunsford, RN, Vice President of Community at Nurse.com. “These winners are setting a new standard by investing in mental health resources, professional growth opportunities, and inclusive leadership. When nurses are supported, everyone benefits — from the teams they work on to the patients they care for.”
The Top Workplaces for Nursing award is based entirely on feedback from nurses, captured by the confidential, research-backed Energage Workplace Survey. Winning organizations scored significantly higher than their peers in key indicators of nurse engagement and satisfaction, based on Energage’s national benchmarks.
“We’re proud to recognize these healthcare organizations for fostering workplace cultures where nurses feel valued, respected, and empowered to provide exceptional patient care,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “This award is especially meaningful because it’s based entirely on the authentic voices of nursing professionals. It’s a powerful acknowledgment of leadership teams who understand that great culture is the foundation of great care.”
To qualify, organizations must employ at least 50 nurses or have a workforce where nurses represent at least 35% of the total employees. Among the many healthcare organizations evaluated, these employers rose above the rest.
The winners of the 2025 Top Workplaces for Nursing are:
- Bloom Healthcare
- Perinatal Associates of New Mexico
- Northshore Rehabilitation Hospital
- Johns Hopkins Care at Home
- Ochsner Health System
- Adventist HealthCare
