Veteran public affairs creative leader joins firm’s leadership team
The Herald Group (THG) is proud to announce the addition of Brad Whitford as its chief creative officer.
With 18 years of experience shaping campaigns for Fortune 50 brands, global nonprofits and innovative startups, Whitford brings a deep track record at the intersection of creativity and public affairs.
He joins THG from DDC Public Affairs, where he served as senior vice president and creative director. Prior to DDC, Whitford worked as vice president and design director at The Glover Park Group for eight years.
“I’ve spent my career helping teams build creative that earns attention and drives real-world impact,” Whitford said. “What excites me most about joining The Herald Group is the chance to pair bold storytelling with the firm’s strategy-first approach—and to do it alongside people who care deeply about getting the work right. Great creative doesn’t happen in isolation; it comes from collaborative, curious and sharp teams. That’s the energy I’m thrilled to bring to THG.”
As chief creative officer, Whitford will oversee THG’s creative vision and execution across the firm’s portfolio. He will partner closely with all of THG’s clients to ensure every campaign delivers compelling, consistent and effective creative across channels.
“Brad is exactly the kind of creative leader this role calls for,” said Todd Van Etten, partner and chief digital strategist. “He’s spent nearly two decades leading design and storytelling for complex campaigns, and he understands how to work inside fast-moving, strategy-first teams. Our team is already award-winning, and Brad’s judgment and eye for detail make him a natural fit to help us keep raising the bar for the work we deliver every day.”
