Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 22, 2010, Citizens, Inc. (“Citizens”) issued a news release (the “Release”) reporting that it will release its third quarter 2010 earnings on Friday, November 5, 2010, and it intends to file its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2010 on the same day. Citizens also announced that it would hold a conference call to discuss its financial results at 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on Monday, November 8, 2010. A copy of the Release is included as Exhibit 99.8 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
