DIANA SHIPPING INC. ANNOUNCES TIME CHARTER CONTRACT FOR M/V OCEANIS
 

ATHENS, GREECE, July 10, 2009 – Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX), a global shipping company specializing in the transportation of dry bulk cargoes, today announced that it has entered into a time charter contract with Bunge S.A., Geneva, for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the m/v Oceanis, at a gross charter rate of US$18,000 per day for a period of minimum eleven (11) to about thirteen (13) months. The charter is expected to commence at the beginning of August 2009.

This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$6 million of gross revenues for the minimum scheduled period of the charter.

The m/v Oceanis is a 75,211 dwt Panamax dry bulk carrier built in 2001.
