Item 7.01.  Regulation FD.
 
On February 12, 2009, Aleris International, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it and substantially all of its U.S. subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware. A copy of that press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
