On August 7, 2014, Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that the Company's board of directors (the "Board") had appointed Lourenco Goncalves to the positions of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
Reversing a decision made by the previous management team and to facilitate unlocking the value of its assets, the Company has determined that it no longer intends to idle the Pinnacle mine, located about 30 miles southwest of Beckley, West Virginia.
