Section 8 – Other Events

Item 8.01

The Board of Directors of CKX Lands, Inc. has declared an extra dividend of $1.00 per common share in addition to the quarterly dividend of seven cents per common share. The total ($1.07) per common share is payable to shareholders of record December 28, 2006, payment date of January 5, 2007.
