Ternium Comments on Recent Developments in Venezuela

Luxembourg, April 9, 2008 – Ternium S.A. (NYSE: TX) announced today that Venezuela's Vice President Ramon Carrizales has informed representatives of Sidor of the Venezuelan government’s intention to nationalize its majority-owned subsidiary Sidor. Ternium, however, has not yet received any formal notice in this respect.

Mr. Carrizales has announced the appointment of a negotiating committee. Ternium awaits the opportunity to engage in discussions with the Venezuelan authorities.
