What are the different types of patterned steel plates?

Patterned steel sheets, also known as checkered steel plates or embossed steel plates, are steel plates with a diamond or raised pattern on their surface. Patterned steel plates, also called checkered steel plates, are steel plates with raised (or recessed) patterns on their surface. The surface pattern can be a single diamond, lenticular, or circular shape, or a combination of two or more patterns to form a composite patterned plate. The patterns mainly serve for anti-slip and decorative purposes. The comprehensive effects of composite patterned plates in terms of anti-slip ability, bending resistance, metal saving, and appearance are significantly better than those of single-patterned plates.

Patterned steel sheets generally have a length of 6m, a width of 800mm to 1800mm, with 1260mm being a common specification, and a thickness ranging from 2mm to 8mm, increasing in 0.5mm increments. The patterns generally include diamond, lenticular, and circular shapes.

II. Classification of Patterned Steel

1. Classified according to process principles: Crystalline patterned steel, cast patterned steel, rotary welded patterned steel, ground patterned steel, folded patterned steel, filed patterned steel, fused patterned steel, and acid-etched patterned steel.

2. Classified according to surface smoothness: Flat pattern and rough pattern.

3. Classified according to material: Cast crystalline patterned steel (Wootz steel, Damascus steel), and artificially forged (welded) patterned steel.

III. Applications of Patterned Plates

1. Ordinary patterned plates are widely used in shipbuilding, boilers, automobiles, tractors, train carriages, and construction industries.

2. Steel plates with raised patterns are used as flooring, factory escalators, work platform treads, ship decks, and automobile underbodies.

3. Steel plates with diamond or lenticular patterns are used for workshops, large equipment, or walkways and stair treads on ships.

4. The surface of the steel plate has a diamond or lenticular raised pattern. It has an anti-slip effect and is commonly used for floors, escalators, treads, automobile underbodies, or ship decks.
