Annual Shawnee Riverfest Concert benefiting the Pocono Mountains United Way

While the Annual Shawnee Riverfest Concert benefiting the Pocono Mountains United Way has been rescheduled to July 11, 2021 at the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, a series of virtual and in person fitness are taking place in 2020 thanks to a partnership with Phoenix Athletica and Organizer Gil Coronado of CILA llc Management.
The next leg of this fitness series will take place Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Phoenix Athletica in Pocono Summit. This in person and virtual Race/Zumba 2 Riverfest event is sponsored by Mountain View Vineyards Winery, Brewery & Distillery. There will be outdoor spinning sessions and Zumba sessions for attendees, along with a T-Shirt, refreshments, and a free concert by Riverfest favorite act Wild Planes and artist AhRiel. Fitness Instructors Sandra Rivera, Johanna Cruz, Lindsay Larsen, and Bob Larsen will run the fitness session, with DJ Que spinning the music.

It was important for us to have a presence in 2020, even during these trying times. This series of events kicked off on August 26, 2020 with a virtual 5K 2 Riverfest Event sponsored by St. Luke's Health Network. During the 30-day event, participants register through active.com, clock and upload their best 5k times. All times will then be tabulated, and the top 3 winners will be announced at the Race/Zumba 2 Riverfest Event on September 26, 2020.
Proceeds from these events support Pocono Mountains United Way's Healthy Start Early Childhood Screening Program, which provides developmental, vision, dental and hearing screenings for children birth to age five. "By screening children early before they start school, we can identify children who need a further evaluation and connect parents to resources. PMUW appreciates the generous support of Phoenix athletica, CILA llc Management and all of the participants," Roxanne Powell Director, Education Initiatives said "We are excited to once again be involved in the Riverfest fitness event series to raise money for Pocono Mountains United Way's Healthy Start Screenings Program.
