Education Luminary Abdul Chohan Joins Hybrid Learning Solution Company, Showbie, as VP Learning

Showbie, makers of SaaS solutions for Hybrid Learning in K12 and Higher Education, have announced the addition of Abdul Chohan to the position of VP Learning. In this Role, Mr. Chohan will oversee the expansion of Showbie’s professional development, training, and implementation services offered to schools and districts.

Mr. Chohan has been a visionary of mobile learning, and its application for better feedback and assessment, since 2008. He has spoken to thousands of educators and decision-makers around the world since 2012, helping organizations, globally to design their digital strategy and assist teachers in adding value to their pedagogical approaches using technology.

In 2018, Mr. Chohan authored Digitising Effective Feedback in the Journal of the Chartered College of Teaching. In this piece, Mr. Chohan highlighted the need to reduce teacher workload and build operational efficiencies, while empowering teachers to provide timely and responsive feedback and build relationships with their students.

Underlying the approach Mr. Chohan shares is the use of Showbie and Socrative as simple and reliable tools. Both are effective at addressing workload, feedback, and relationships – especially in a home learning environment.

Mr. Chohan’s work has been published in ‘World Class’ by David James & Ian Warwick, ‘Rewiring Education’ by John D Couch and ‘Learning Reimagined’ by Graham Brown-Martin.

“Mr. Chohan is an incredibly talented communicator and teacher. With the ability to empathize deeply with educators and school leadership, Mr. Chohan has been able to shepherd hundreds of organizations through successful education technology implementations,” said Colin Bramm, Showbie’s CEO & Co-Founder. “Witnessing the massive impact Mr. Chohan has already made in the education technology space, we saw an opportunity for him to scale his presence to every organization we interact with. We are thrilled to have Mr. Chohan on board to help all of our customers see better learning outcomes.”

“It is an absolute pleasure and privilege to be part of this amazing group of people who continue to innovate and make education accessible for children all over the world,” said Mr. Chohan. “I am excited about the future and look forward to adding value to the team as an educator and school leader.”

Mr. Chohan is the director of ThinkSimple Ltd, founder of a free school in the UK, Former CEO of a Multi-Academy Trust in the UK, Apple Distinguished Educator, and Showbie Champion.

“For educators and school leaders grappling with the many challenges of education today, having the right tools is only part of the solution. Organizations need a strong vision, motivation, and strategy to get the best learning outcomes from the technology they deploy,” added Cameron Wakal, VP Product at Showbie. “With Mr. Chohan on the team, all of our customers will have access to the proven vision and playbook that Abdul has been honing through years of on-the-ground experience in schools around the world. I can’t wait to see the success he’ll help teachers and students achieve in the upcoming school year, and beyond.”

In the last quarter, Mr. Chohan has personally instructed more than 10,000 educators on how to use Showbie and Socrative as a hybrid learning solution. This summer, Showbie will debut the Showbie Certified Educator course, developed by Mr. Chohan, which will be available to all teachers licensed on the Pro edition of Showbie. The online course will enable teachers to certify their understanding and knowledge of Showbie and Socrative for use in a hybrid learning environment.
