Minneapolis Criminal Defense Attorney Named To Top 100 Super Lawyers List

Out of the estimated 27,000 lawyers in Minnesota, criminal defense attorney Ryan Garry has been named a "Top 100" lawyer for 2018. Super Lawyer Magazine and the Minnesota St. Paul Magazine publishes the annual list of the top 100 lawyers in more than 70 practice areas across the United States who have received recognition from their peers as well as achieved professional accolades. This is the first time Ryan Garry has received this distinguished Top 100 honor, although he has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2014, and a Rising Star Super Lawyer since 2009.

Ryan Garry - Top Criminal Lawyer, is a Criminal Law Specialist, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association, which means he has met stringent requirements as required by the Bar Association, including achieved a minimum number of criminal jury trials, been in good standing with the board, and has maintained an excellent reputation as an accomplished state and federal trial attorney. Less than 3% of criminal defense attorneys in Minnesota have achieved this certification.

"It's important to hire a lawyer with the certification of a specialist because it means the attorney has had a significant amount of jury trials, that the attorney has an excellent reputation with judges and prosecutors, and that the lawyer has not been disciplined by the Minnesota Board of Professional Responsibility," says Garry.

Super Lawyers Magazine is a national publication, which reaches more than 13 million readers. A stringent, patented and multi-phase selection process is used by the publication to determine the final Top 100 Super Lawyer list, making it an honor among lawyers to be included. Only 5% of the state’s lawyers are nominated to the certification. The selection process includes peer nominations, peer evaluations and independent research.

The purpose of the list is to develop a comprehensive and credible resource of the most exceptional attorneys in America. It is often used by those seeking legal counsel as well as a data-bank for attorneys. The list is limited to those lawyers who may be retained by the public, such as those in private practice and working for Legal Aid services. This makes the list a valuable tool for anyone wishing to hire a lawyer.

Before gaining the designation of the Super Lawyers Top 100 List, Ryan Garry was named a Rising Star Super Lawyer in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, and was named a Super Lawyer from 2014 through 2018.

Nearly 100% of Ryan's practice since its inception has been representing clients on cases ranging from driving offenses, to murder to major white collar crime. He gained the acquittal of clients through many not-guilty jury verdicts, orders to dismiss and hung juries in cases ranging from DWI to Murder. His most recent acquittals and not guilty verdicts include Felony Third Degree Assault, Felony First Degree Assault, Felony Domestic Assault Strangulation, Aiding First Degree Murder, Aiding an Offender, Riot in the Second Degree (Black Lives Matter Case) and Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Third Degree.

"When a person comes to my firm and they've been charged with or are being investigated with a crime, they're often at the most stressful time of their life," explains Garry. "I try to take this burden and anxiety off their shoulders, and work hard to get them the best result I possibly can." Obtaining the best result in a criminal case often involves hundreds of hours of work.
