Ehab Wassily, a young Christian man who seeks to overcome the strict traditions of marriage in his country is going online and running a crowdfunding campaign. He is on his way to show the world that passion and love can do the unthinkable even with the odds being stacked against him.

PRLog - Jun 01, 2013 - NEW YORK -- Ehab Magdy Wassily, a young Christian in a Muslim dominated society shows the world that if there is a will, there is a way. He shows the world how true love could overcome any traditions and obstacles. He didn't care that his circumstances and the traditions made him the underdog in his fight to marry his loved one, and he decided to think outside of the box in order to beat these odds.

Ehab Magdy (24-years) graduated two years ago in 2011. He met his college sweetheart during the second year in college and they have been together ever since.

Were you young and in love once but perhaps your parents said no to the guy or gal you wanted to marry?

Well, Ehab faces a very similar situation, but it is the strict traditions of marriage in Egypt that are saying No.

Ehab and his girlfriend, Amira, have been together for almost 5 years now and it is not by choice that they are taking things slowly, in fact, they would get married in a heartbeat and start a family if it was up to them. This couple's problem is complicated and layered.

The first obstacle, as mentioned, is the marriage traditions of Egypt, as according to them, this young man can’t go and propose until he has his own apartment and an apartment in Egypt in a good neighborhood would roughly cost $40k. Add to that the furniture, the reservation of the Church and the wedding reception. Of course, this is a large amount of money for someone who just graduated.

This takes us to the second layer of the problem, the economy. Following the Egyptian Revolution that occurred on the 25th of January that ousted the former president, Hosni Mubarak, the economy’s state has been deteriorating. Due to the turmoil, the protests and the insecurity in Egypt, investors started to flee the country and with it, millions of job opportunities.  To exacerbate the situation, the Muslim Brotherhood, a Muslim Regime, rose to power and this hasn't exactly helped matters. This is why he couldn't find a job when we graduated.

Ehab did not give up, he decided to look for an online Freelancing career and he started developing it, and after 8 months, he found a day job. He started to work these two jobs. By day, he would work in his day job and he would develop and work on his Freelancing career by night.

The third and last layer of the problem is that even juggling these two jobs, marrying his girl before he is over 30 years old or even 35 years old seems quite impossible, or as he put it “a distant dream”.

With the odds stacked against him, he didn't care that he was the underdog in this fight and he decided to approach the problem in a new way. He decided to run an online crowd funding campaign on GoFundMe.com.

He shares his story in details with the online community of GoFundMe.com and relying on their support to be able to beat the odds and marry his girlfriend. The money that he will raise and the money that he has saved over the past two years from the two jobs will make him able to propose to his girl.

This way, they can finally get married and start their married life young or as he put it in his video “To get married young, to go through life together, experience new things together and eventually, grow old together”.

There are many projects on GoFundMe.com but this one is among the ones that really stands out because it tells the touching story of a young man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goal and marry his love regardless of his circumstances.
