Prague Students Rock Out for Pink Crocodile Charity

Three student rock bands came together at Belushi’s Bar in Old Town Prague, Czech Republic last weekend in support of the Pink Crocodile Charity, which is building a new school for severely handicapped children in the Czech Republic.


Three student rock bands came together at Belushi’s Bar in Old Town Prague, Czech Republic last weekend in support of the Pink Crocodile Charity, which is building a new school for severely handicapped children in the Czech Republic.

Playing to a packed house were expat student bands Brightside and 3 Man Circus, and the local Czech band MSN.

Event organizer and Brightside’s lead singer Veronika Wilkinson was happy with the near capacity turn out at Belushi’s, “The audience was extremely supportive. We definitely want to make this an annual charity event in support of the Pink Crocodile School.”

Pink Crocodile o.p.s is an international non-profit organisation headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, that offers help to handicapped children and children in poverty worldwide.

"We believe that every child, irrespective of race, nationality, culture, social status or religion, has a right to proper nutrition, medical care and education," stated Ulrike Schneider, Chairman of Pink Crocodile's Supervisory board.

Pink Crocodile hosts several fund raising events per year, including its Charity Tennis Tournament in Prague each Fall, in which businessmen and women can compete against each other in doubles tennis. "The tennis tournament is a great corporate networking event not to mention lots of fun" Ms. Schneider explained. Last year numerous corporations with offices in Prague sponsored the event, including energy drink company Red Bull, accounting firm Deloitte, property management companies Jones Lang LaSalle and The Charnwood Company, BFLS Architects, property developer Discovery Group, and aircraft ground handling company EVO Jet Services.
