With Energy Prices Rising – Thermal Imaging Continues to be the Hot Topic

By: PRLog
PR Log - Aug 29, 2011 - Reading, Berkshire, UK – The use of thermography to assess building energy performance has been around since the 1980’s, however the cost of the thermal imaging surveys often put the service out of reach for most domestic customers. Red Current Ltd have now developed three levels of service to suit all requirements and enables customers to pin point exactly how and where they are losing their heating energy.

Level 1 is the Express Thermal Imaging service – This provides the customer with high resolution thermal images of each elevation of the property. Each image is accompanied by a temperature scale, enabling the customer to perform their own analysis on the building’s performance.

Level 2 is the Report and Analysis Service – The service includes a survey and analysis report which has been completed in accordance with BS EN 13187 – Thermal Performance of buildings – Qualitative detection of thermal irregularities in building envelopes – Infrared method. The final report enables the customer to make informed decisions regarding the energy performance of the building.

Level 3 is the Full Heat Loss Analysis Survey - This takes the application of thermography to a new heights. The service is carried out in accordance with BS EN 13187 but goes much further. The final report provides estimates on potential cost savings associated with implementing a range of energy saving activities. The information within the report will enable customers to develop the most cost effective energy saving strategy.

Kristian Westerhold, Managing Director of Red Current Ltd said “I am extremely proud to offer this service to our domestic customers in Berkshire and Hampshire. We hope the level of interest in our infrared surveys throughout our local area is good, as it will enable us to offer the service nationally.”

Red Current Ltd provide thermal imaging services for applications including electrical infrared inspections, condition monitoring of building services equipment and building envelope heat loss analysis. Each of the surveys is completed by a BINDT level 2 certified thermographic engineer, using the highest specification Flir thermal imaging cameras commercially available. The BINDT PCN certification scheme is recognised in the UK and Europe and complies with the requirements of international standard ISO 18436.
