Samy Sharif Unveils Three Houses, a Transformative Album Trilogy Marked by Depth, Discipline, and Artistic Rebirth

By: Get News

Boundary-pushing artist Samy Sharif announces the completion of Three Houses, an ambitious trilogy of albums written and recorded during his first 18 months in Los Angeles. The trilogy — House of Failure, House of Fix, and House of Bliss — features nine tracks per chapter and has already surpassed one million streams across platforms.

The Egyptian-Irish, first-generation American musician has long been recognized for his rare ability to merge introspection with cinematic storytelling. His national and international touring history gives him the stage presence of a seasoned performer, while his internal world fuels a creative universe defined by honesty, tension, resilience, and hope.

A Cinematic Vision: “Snuff the Pilot Light”

Sharif’s latest visual release, “Snuff the Pilot Light,” reinforces his growing reputation as a musician with a filmmaker’s instinct. The video, created alongside collaborator Chris Kas, plays more like a short film than a traditional music video. A suited figure with an unfamiliar face dances through an aged living room—an artistic representation of Sharif’s dialogue with his past, present, and future selves.

“I’m constantly trying to see things from the angle of my deathbed,” Sharif shares. “I want to look back knowing I never quit. This video is that inner conversation brought to life.” A longer 10-minute cut exists, preserving the full exchange between his present and future selves and reflecting the thematic heartbeat of the trilogy: the urgency of time and the desire to slow it down.

Seasons of the Soul: Failure, Fix, Bliss

Each album in Three Houses mirrors a distinct emotional season:

House of Failure — a Midwestern winter: cold air, salt-stained boots, blood on snow, and the stubborn persistence of hope.

House of Fix — an East Coast spring: rain, overgrown lawns, green emerging through deadwood, and the easing of old shame.

House of Bliss — a West Coast summer: Venice light, warm concrete, swagger, fruit, and a shift from hope to certainty.

Together, the trilogy serves as a sweeping emotional arc documenting Sharif’s transition from darkness to clarity.

A Year of Radical Transformation

Sharif’s life changed profoundly during the creation of the trilogy. In 2023, he left Chicago—a pressure cooker of routine and stagnation—to start anew in Los Angeles. He worked construction by day while quietly rebuilding the foundation of his artistry.

With each installment came new milestones:

Failure was born during a period of uncertainty and reinvention.

Fix marked a shift toward stability: moving to Venice, signing a publishing deal, performing again, and recommitting to health.

Bliss arrived at the height of discipline and gratitude; nearly a year alcohol-free, surrounded by strong collaborators, and fully immersed in routine and purpose.

“Three Houses is the honest snapshot of a man starting from scratch,” Sharif says. “If it represents anything, it represents transition.”

An Artist Becoming a Filmmaker

Sharif’s visual work is intentionally crafted as an extension of his sound. He describes music and film as “two ventricles of the same heart,” both driven by the same philosophical engine. He and Chris Kas are actively building the stylistic vocabulary they hope to one day bring to full-length feature films.

“My hope is that people see pieces of themselves in the work,” Sharif notes. “Any great artist is really just holding up a mirror.”

Influences & Inspirations

Sharif cites Nick Cave as a foundational artistic north star: an artist whose career has only strengthened with age and whose mastery of darkness and beauty echoes the emotional undercurrents of Three Houses. “Wild God is a masterpiece,” he says.

What Comes After the Trilogy

With the trilogy complete, Sharif steps boldly into a new era. His next album, Belly Laugh, is finished—and Sharif reveals the title here for the first time. The project marks the beginning of a fresh sonic and thematic chapter.

Upcoming Performance

Sharif will open for JMSN in Vancouver on November 23, a full-circle moment for the artist as he continues expanding his live footprint.
