Franco Esteve’s New, Experimental Minimalist Ambient Release, “Weirdly Bent,” attempts to explore a personal story by musically bending reality starting July 12th

Cala Ratjada, Baleares, Spain - July 10th, 2024 - Puerto Rican artist and composer, Franco Esteve, has released a new, experimental, minimalist, ambient single called “Weirdly Bent”.

The single, highly anticipated due to his popular, previously released, award-winning soundtrack, “Apocalypse: The Doll Chronicles,” was birthed from the creation of new soundtracks for the Mallorca 360 VR film series and a new film series, coming into its own story throughout the process.

While the multi-disciplinary artist and composer is known to create music with a film focused, story-driven approach created to elicit images and feelings in listeners, this latest work, his 16th release and 9th single, is meant to transport the listener beyond that, taking the listener deeper into their own story.

Esteve is an award-winning filmmaker and composer, and soundtrack lovers in particular will be keen to appreciate the story and personal “movie” that the song evokes. Jamsphere Magazine, had this to say about the composer in past reviews: “To say his music is cinematic is all too obvious and Esteve’s ability to create simple and emotive musical narratives is a rare gift to be admired...Esteve’s music has a universal appeal that will attract audiences of many cultures and musical tastes." A Huffington Post review has said the following about Franco Esteve’s song, “The Wait”: “(Franco) Esteve has composed a glistening tune that is simultaneously diaphanous and sensitive, yet emancipated and emotive."

“Weirdly Bent is the feeling of life’s twists and bends, as if reality was slanted, bending into something else, an exploration, beyond the self or otherwise, that in the end tells one’s story. The music bends, bending the listener in thought and self. It’s meant to be experimental, weird, slightly floaty, trippy even, yet deeply expressive and direct. As I explored different sounds, guitars, and other instruments, bending and breaking things, composing these soundtracks, I found myself drawn into this peculiar musical language and just went with it.”

Esteve sees “Weirdly Bent” as transporting the user into a different state of mind, relaxed, but highly aware, evoking deeply profound images that communicate, with each bending, one’s own projected moment, adapting to one’s own story and experience, inducing a nostalgia part- present-future kind of state. “Music has a profound effect in our feelings and can evoke deep, happy, trippy thoughts that take us beyond ourselves, and the simple, yet weird, melodic journey of this song takes you there.”

Franco Esteve will release “Weirdly Bent,” digitally on July 12th on most, popular streaming services and digital download stores such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Bandcamp and more. Please visit “Weirdly Bent” at Franco Esteve’s Official “Weirdly Bent” Music Single Page for more information:

Here is what Franco Esteve says of his creative musical compositions: "For me, composing music is a process of exploration, which is why I’m so drawn to it. There are so many places to visit and explore and express. I think music can act as a live entity within a story, regardless of where or what inspires it."

“Weirdly Bent,” is an experimental, minimalist ambient song that expresses that slight bending of reality one might experience throughout one’s life as one confronts certain situations or goes through certain experiences. The music bends. It bends the thought and the self. It's experimental, weird, slightly floaty, trippy even, yet deeply expressive and direct.
