From the Flight Deck to the Engineering Floor
Lt. Maneclang's career began in the U.S. Navy, where he served for 20 years in key roles that spanned aviation maintenance, supply chain logistics and operational readiness. Initially an aviation machinist's mate first class, he later transitioned to a supply officer role. In this capacity, he oversaw critical logistics that ensured the efficiency and effectiveness of naval operations. His growing ability to manage large-scale supply chains and operational workflows set the foundation for his later success in the defense industry.
After retiring from active duty in 1993, Lt. Maneclang applied his experience to civilian defense contracting, taking on roles at Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International and ultimately, Raytheon Technical Services. As a senior multi-disciplined engineer, he played an instrumental role in provisioning and system engineering for the construction of the USS San Antonio (LPD-17) amphibious transport dock ships.
Lt. Maneclang's work involved analyzing complex engineering schematics, overseeing material provisioning and ensuring that electronic systems met government specifications. These responsibilities required meticulous attention to detail and deep technical knowledge. His contributions were integral to ensuring that these advanced naval vessels were equipped with the necessary systems to operate at peak performance.
A Legacy of Leadership and Responsibility
Lt. Maneclang's technical and logistical expertise has been sharpened by his commitment to mentorship, professional development and community service. He is an active member of organizations such as the Military Officers Association of America, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) California and the Filipino American Military Officers Association, where he advocates for veterans and supports military personnel transitioning into civilian careers.
For more than a decade, Lt. Maneclang has dedicated himself further to humanitarian efforts. Through his work with Sola Gratia Ministries and Mission East Asian National Support (MEANS), he has contributed to providing water filtration systems for underserved communities in the Philippines and Africa. These organizations work to improve access to clean drinking water for those in need.
Looking Back with Gratitude on a Lifetime of Service
Now enjoying retirement, Lt. Maneclang remains engaged in community initiatives and professional mentorship. Reflecting on his career, Lt. Maneclang says, "I am very appreciative of the opportunities and successes I have had." He attributes his prosperity to the unique perspective he gained from both military and civilian sectors, as well as his dedication to upholding the values of integrity, precision and service.
