New nonprofit committed to eradicating hunger hosts community-focused event in Pine Hills.
ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / November 30, 2024 / United Feeding, a newly established nonprofit organization dedicated to combating hunger in Central Florida, hosted its first annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway on Friday, November 22. Held at the Pine Hills Community Center, the event provided over 100 turkeys to families in need, marking a significant step in the organization's mission to create a hunger-free region.
The event, aimed at supporting local families during the holiday season, highlighted the organization's commitment to eradicating food insecurity in Central Florida. Residents of Pine Hills were welcomed to the Community Center, where they received turkeys and connected with United Feeding volunteers eager to assist and uplift their neighbors.
Christopher Blanchard, President of United Feeding, expressed pride in the success of the organization's inaugural event and outlined plans for the future. "Yes, this turkey giveaway was about providing food - but it's also about fostering hope and community. We are deeply committed to fighting hunger in Central Florida, and this is only the beginning. Next year, we plan to expand our outreach with additional food drives, partnerships, and the eventual opening of our own food bank."
