This Latina mother of 4 worked hard to climb the corporate ladder within the insurance industry only to find that being a minority would make this climb much harder than she ever anticipated. Being a woman in corporate America comes with its roadblocks but when you incorporate being a woman of color to the mix, this adds so much more adversity to the climb. Priscilla decided to embark in entrepreneurship and saw a need for fingerprinting agencies within Chicago, opening 3 locations of her own. At a very young age, Priscilla Lugo and her families' lives were rocked by a senseless random act of violence which ultimately ended the life of her young brother. This trauma ultimately created a curiosity for true crime, a drive for advocacy and a desire to help create awareness about crime and violence.
Despite her hardships, Priscilla recalls a day when she was having her television installed at home, and the technician turned her television on to Spaulding Decon's YouTube channel, which has a following of over 1 million on this platform. She remembers being drawn to the content and admiring the company's thoroughness and passion for decontamination. See, when Priscilla's brother was murdered, there weren't decontamination companies around to do the clean-up for them. After contacting several remediation franchises, it was obvious to Priscilla and her husband Jarvis Hughes, that Spaulding would be their next business venture and the first territory of its' kind within Chicago.
The couple has a passion for the community. They work closely with fostering organizations, community non-profits and other organizations working hard to protect the youth in their community. When they are not working, Jarvis and Priscilla could be found riding their motorcycles with their cycle club, hosting large family cookouts, or taking trips with their beautiful children to Disney. Family and community is extremely important for this duo, and they intend to continue working hard towards being a resource to the city of Chicago where they call home.
