In a press release issued on June 17, 2008, Ivanhoe Energy Inc. (“Ivanhoe”) announced its intention to increase the private placement offering amount for special warrants convertible into common shares of Ivanhoe, subject to regulatory approvals and other factors. Previously, in a press release issued on June 6, 2008 and filed on Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 9, 2008, Ivanhoe announced its intention to offer such special warrants convertible into common shares of Ivanhoe in a private placement. A copy of the press release issued on June 17, 2008 is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
