On August 27, 2010, Continental Airlines, Inc. (“Continental”) and UAL Corporation (“UAL”)
issued a joint press release announcing the termination by the United States Department of Justice
of its review of the proposed business combination transaction between Continental and UAL under
the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended. A copy of the press release
is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference into this Item 8.01.
