On August 8, 2003, Mercantile Bankshares Corporation, a Maryland corporation (“Mercantile”), and F&M Bancorp, a Maryland corporation, jointly announced the value of the consideration to be paid by Mercantile in connection with the proposed merger with F&M Bancorp.
